1. Know your skills: First, try solving problems that are appropriate your age. If you are able to solve then probably you are ready to solve advanced problems. Get good books and start practising more.
2. Understand the problem: Avoid judging the problem (difficult or easy) too early. The focus should be to understand the situation clearly.
3. Create a model: This is when one could draw a picture that describes the situation or form a mental model.
